Westborough Golf Update
There is a lot going with golf this week!
Congrats to our Ladies for beating Algonquin in the Ladies Berry Cup
on September 16th!
Our 18-hole Ladies held a Rally for the Cure day on September 23rd.
Check out the pictures below!
Our Board of Governors headed out for the Annual Governor's Cup
on Wednesday, September 17th.
Congrats to the Governor's Cup Winners,
Kennedy Hudson and Brett Rufkahr!
A note from Tim Allen regard the Golf Course:
This coming fall, we will start an
aerification and seeding project to eradicate the Bermuda and Poa. We
will overseed with a combination of Tall Fescue and bluegrass. The same
process will be used around the greens. Bermuda is a nasty, aggressive
turfgrass, or weed. So, next Spring, if your golf ball rolls out of the fairway and into the rough, your shot should be a little easier! Please excuse our mess this fall.
We are also scheduled to aerify our greens on October 13th.
This is late in the season, but most private clubs aerify their greens twice a year.
We don't aerify ours in the spring, when everyone wants to play.
Also, similar to last year, we have many Monday outings in September.
