A message from John Slattery....
Dear Fellow Members,
Spring is right around the corner and I
for one can’t wait. I am looking forward to all the great events the club is
planning for us.
I want to take a few minutes to bring you
up to date on many of the exciting things happening around the Club. Last fall’s assessment passed with 90% of the
membership vote. I cannot say how appreciative I am of all the support from our
membership. Please be assured, it is the Board’s focused desire to be both
conservative and prudent with these funds.
I want to thank all the volunteers for the
time and effort they have invested in our committees. It is the Board’s goal to engage as many
members as possible to create the greatest member experience for all. In that
spirit, I would like to highlight the Interiors Committee this month who have
spent a great deal of time working with our designer to select finishes for the
club renovations. If you have not
already done so, hurry up to the club to check out all the updates that have
been underway during the last few months!
Here is a sample of the projects:
- Fresh paint in our main hallway from the living room to bar, the bar area, and hallway to the Fitness Center.
- The ladies locker room was painted and new countertops installed in the main sitting area.
- The ladies locker entryway has new attractive tile, paint, and heater.
- The ladies restroom off the bar replaced everything, except the walls!
- The men’s restroom off the bar received a new counter and a fresh coat of paint.
- The Sandtrap was painted throughout with new molding.
- The Men’s locker room: freshly painted walls, new countertops, mirrors, and vanity lights. In the next 2 weeks the new carpeting will be installed!
- Still to come are inside doors that will close off the Club Room from the bar.
Our Golf Course Superintendent, Tim Allen,
has put out a letter in the Chatterbox and weekly emails highlighting upgrades
to the golf course. I encourage you to review
this information.
As we move into spring, now is the time to
invite your friends, family and colleagues to consider Westborough as the best
place for their family. Westborough is like no other club, the camaraderie one
experiences here cannot be found elsewhere. I am asking everyone for your
commitment to help our club continue to grow. We are very excited to announce a
new Spring Preview Program. Under this
program a prospective member can apply for membership and have use of the Club
from now until May 31st. During this period they would pay a reduced
monthly rate while they “test the waters”. We are confident that once a
prospective member is able to truly experience all that Westborough has to
offer, they will understand what a special place it is. After their preview is over, the prospective
member will begin paying the appropriate dues according to their membership
classification. We believe this will be a successful program that will promote
more memberships at Westborough. Keep an eye open for Caitlin Meiners’ communications
for all the details of this program. Always remember to contact Caitlin Meiners
with any questions and/or contact information for a new member.
